Liechtenstein is to get a new climbing hall for renowned ice climbers. The Liechtenstein Alpine Club (LAV) has been campaigning for its construction for ten years. However, there have been repeated changes to the project. After all the procedures had already been completed, the municipalities of Schaan and Vaduz recently decided to build the hall on Vaduz municipal land after all. As a result, statements on financing will have to be submitted to parliament again. 80 percent of the CHF 6.23 million funding is secured by the state, while 20 percent must be raised by the eleven municipalities involved and through donations. The Pro Humanitate Foundation is supporting this project. Construction of the climbing hall is due to start in the fall of 2025.
